Cancelについて (2)

I always feel at least a flicker of uncertainty whenever a card gets cancelled by Direct Intervention, Charismatic Aura, Approximation of Loyalty, etc., etc. Therefore, I'd really appreciate a complete rundown of what happens when a card gets cancelled: whether:

- the pool cost is paid
- the blood cost is paid
- the spent master phase action is regained
- the minion attempting to play an action is tapped
- the NRA rule triggers
- the "no duplicate action modifier/reaction on same action by same minion" is triggered
- the "once per game" restriction is triggered
- the "once per turn" restriction is triggered
- the "once per combat" restriction is triggered
- the "once per combat round" restriction is triggered

Depends on the specific canceling effect. Most refund the cost paid with explicit card text.

Wash = Yes. Sudden Reversal = No.

Depends on card text, usually no.

If it was an action card, no.

Always.

BTW, what makes NRA different from the things you list below it is that NRA only applies to Actions that resolve. Canceled Actions don't resolve, so NRA doesn't apply.

For only one may be "played" once per round, yes.

for "used" (e.g., additional strike gaining effects), no.

That is the general paradigm: the canceled card is played but the effect is not used. So a restriction on how many can be played will notice the canceled card (e.g., action modifiers), but a restriction on use will not.

Thanks.

And those that don't say (e.g., Watenda)?
And what about the effect of something like Terror Frenzy, which is not a cost?

Leave the cost paid.

Terror Frenzy is a cost.

For effects that are not costs, refunding/negating the cost won't apply to the non-cost effect.

Okay, now I'm confused.

Terror Frenzy
"Opposing vampire burns an additional blood when playing combat cards this combat."

I thought the reason Meshenka has to pay for superior Chiropteran Marauder was that "burning blood" is not a cost?

Terror Frenzy:
an additional blood this combat.
